Amsterdam, renowned for its tulips, canals, and charming town centre, has now become the epicentre of a groundbreaking milestone for SABCA. The aerospace company’s latest achievement, amidst the iconic Dutch landscape, underlines the prowess in navigating challenges and delivering on urgent timelines
Drawing on our wealth of experience, SABCA showcased remarkable flexibility and enthusiasm in successfully executing a cross-border UAV mission. The endeavour presented numerous challenges, particularly considering the bustling airspace near one of Europe’s busiest airports. However, through strategic collaboration with key stakeholders such as EASA – European Union Aviation Safety Agency, Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport , and LVNL, SABCA overcame obstacles and seamlessly integrated their UAV operations with Schiphol Airport.
The close partnership with EASA, ILent, and LVNL played a pivotal role in navigating the complexities of performing UAV flights in proximity to a major European airport. Furthermore, the acquisition of LUC privileges granted SABCA operational flexibility, enabling us to meet the demanding requirements of the mission.
This achievement is a testament to the collaborative spirit and dedication of all parties involved. What was once deemed impossible has now become a reality, marking a significant milestone in the world of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). As SABCA sets its sights on international waters, we are poised to achieve another industry first in the realm of unmanned aviation.
